Piper Delilah
Piper is a British writer who focuses primarily on the short story form. Through studying English Literature at Goldsmiths University London, Piper came to develop her writing style after praising the considered craft of authors spanning from the 1890s to 1990s. The ignition behind her writing stems from the desire to understand people, hence her work blends both reality and fiction, which imbues the reader with a surreal endearment.
‘People are the thing’ she was told, and now holds this phrase as the pivot point of her work. Piper now splits her time between her studio in Surrey and her studio in Kinvara, Ireland. Taking inspiration from W. Somerset Maugham when he claims that ‘good prose should resemble the conversation,’ Piper attempts to strip back her narratives to make the reader feel as if ‘It is just one individual talking candidly to another.’
In 2021, Piper self-published a limited press of letters between herself and her partner at the time, titled ‘From and By and In Love.’ She is currently working on a series of short stories that chronicles the symbiotic relationship between beauty and tragedy.

Rupert James Willatt
Rupert is a London-based Tree Surgeon and writer. As a Philosophy graduate from Kings College London, the world of academia provided an environment which equally nurtured his nitty-gritty analytical style, whilst also enhancing his poetically layered prose. Rupert finds himself drawn toward the creative outlet of words, given it offers a moment to untangle the thoughts of the everyday eclectic life. His niche is ever-changing, recently he has drifted from prose to poetry, finding the form more enjoyable and suited to his rhythmic style and sensitive eye. Rupert is most influenced by Philosophy, given it has taught him the virtue of analogy, where the line, the theory, the real and the everyday all conjoin.
When it comes to influences, Rupert finds himself drawn to the concise and elegant David Hume, alongside authors such as Jack London, Henry Miller, and Jack Kerouac with his shotgun neverending verse.
Rupert’s writing process begins with mindless scribbling followed by a heavy hand of editing. Despite what is written, Rupert notes ‘The edit is almost always the trick to making it good. The rest is mindless, ideas picked out of the dark.’
